Fabio Bistoncini

Born in Rome in 1964, Fabio Bistoncini attended the classical high school Ennio Quirino Visconti and earned a Law degree from the “Luiss Guido Carli” University in Rome.
He began his career in 1991 in the field of Public Affairs and Lobbying at SCR Associati, a leading Italian public relations firm.
In 1994, he became Head of Institutional Relations for all Italian clients of the Shandwick Group, the UK-based company that had acquired SCR & Associati.
In 1996, he founded Bistoncini Partners, where he currently serves as Chairman and CFO. Within a few years, the firm became one of Italy’s leading advocacy and lobbying agencies.
In 1993, he completed the Advanced Legislative Studies Course organized by the School of Science and Technique of Legislation of the I.S.L.E. (Institute for Legislative Documentation and Studies), earning his diploma.
He has taught in various Master’s and training programs, collaborating with the Universities of Udine-Gorizia and Milan, leading seminars on interest groups and lobbying in Italy.
From 2003 to 2007, he was Vice President of FERPI (Italian Federation of Public Relations). From 2007 to 2009, he oversaw institutional relations and partnerships with other communication industry associations.
A member of SISP (Italian Political Science Association), he is a founding member of its Standing Group on Interest Groups, where he has presented papers, research, and served as a discussant.
He is the author of numerous articles and wrote a book, Vent’anni da “sporco” lobbista (Twenty Years as a “Dirty” Lobbyist), published by Guerini Associati in September 2011.
Since 2016, he has been a contract professor at the University of Milan, teaching “Interest Groups and Lobbying.”
